Follow the leader
by Woulfy

I have 6 dogs, I have trained all my dogs to follow the leader and work them all off lead. Whenever I take my dogs out I always work them close, if you let dogs go too far away from you they can go conveniently deaf! Dogs always presume you are walking in a straight line, so I do loads of quick... more

Bikejoring
by Gary

Hi, I have been exercising my dogs using a mountain bike for around 15 years now. I started with and adult size scooter but found that the bike was a much better option for me. I have alot of cycle paths and open hillside nearby so I am quite lucky. My 2 Northern Inuits Elvis and Ray absolutely love to run... more

Missy's Story
by Pate

Missy had belonged to an old lady and lived with her in her apartment for the last five years of the old dear's life. When their mum passed on, the kids couldn't cope with Missy so they put her straight into Battersea. There she lived for the next two years. We went along to Battersea after the death of our darling Spotty, passed the interview and were told we could have any one of their jacks. We said Spotty lived to 18 so we were prepared to take an older one as we know they lived a long time... more

 East Sussex Gems!
« Thread Started on Mar 1, 2009, 1:05am »

East Sussex has some really great spots for dog walking, just a few of my favourites are:

Powdermill Woods in Battle, this actually forms part of the 1066 country walk so has a public footpath. It's a great mixture of open fields, bridle paths, and woods with streams, covering 150 odd acres. There is also a lovely dog friendly hotel adjacent to the woods with its own private grounds. http://www.powdermillshotel.com/

Brede High Woods in Sedlescombe offers 648 acres of mixed woodland with heathland, coppice, wet woodland, small ponds, springs, and streams. Great place for large breed dog walkers, you can really let them run around and tire them out. You'll have to be fit though a good walk round can easily take 3 hours, and this only covers a small section of the woods!

Highwoods in Bexhill is 87 acres of woodland. This actually has 3 easy to follow trails, and can easily be walked in 50 minutes or so.

All of these woods have car parks.
