Follow the leader
by Woulfy

I have 6 dogs, I have trained all my dogs to follow the leader and work them all off lead. Whenever I take my dogs out I always work them close, if you let dogs go too far away from you they can go conveniently deaf! Dogs always presume you are walking in a straight line, so I do loads of quick... more

Bikejoring

Hi, I have been exercising my dogs using a mountain bike for around 15 years now. I started with and adult size scooter but found that the bike was a much better option for me. I have alot of cycle paths and open hillside nearby so I am quite lucky. My 2 Northern Inuits Elvis and Ray absolutely love to run... more

Missy's Story
by Pate

Missy had belonged to an old lady and lived with her in her apartment for the last five years of the old dear's life. When their mum passed on, the kids couldn't cope with Missy so they put her straight into Battersea. There she lived for the next two years. We went along to Battersea after the death of our darling Spotty, passed the interview and were told we could have any one of their jacks. We said Spotty lived to 18 so we were prepared to take an older one as we know they lived a long time... more

 Summer Fundraisers
« Thread Started on May 13, 2009, 8:41am »

I've just updated the SHWA(UK) website with details of some of our the major fundraising events this coming summer. We are going to be busy ::) ::)

Friday, Saturday and Sunday 5th/6th/7th June - Meet us at The Lancashire and Ribble Valley Garden and Country Fair, Ribble Valley, nr Preston, Lancs.

Saturday and Sunday 20th/21st June - Meet us at Paws In The Park, Broadlands, Hampshire - where we will have our display stand, will display dogs running in harness, and sell hug-a-husky photos.

Saturday and Sunday 27th/28th June - Meet us at The Big Doggie Do, Furzton Lake, V4 Watling Street, Milton Keynes

Sunday 5th July - Meet us at Alton Show, Froyle Park, Alton, Hampshire - where we will have our display stand and an arena display.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10th/11th/12th July - Meet us at Just Dogs Live, a brand new dog event held at the same time as the East of England Championship Dog Show at the East of England Show Ground, Peterborough,

Saturday and Sunday 12th/13th September - Meet us at Paws In The Park, The Hop Farm, Kent -display stand, arena display, exemption show

There will be several others as well which I will add as soon as we get full details.
If you live locally to any of these events and fancy a good day out, come along and see us!
All the money raised from our stands/displays will go directly to support unwanted Siberian Huskies. We have no kennels to maintain and no paid staff, so everything gets back to the dogs.

I hope the events bring you much support.
Fingers crossed you'll get one in Essex, then I'd love to come see your dogs xx

Haven't got anything planned in Essex yet - we were going to try to get a charity stall at "All About Dogs" but they cancelled it this year!

Thanks for the good wishes.
