I agree with what has already been said about this breed. Tealah is nearly 16 months, we got her as a pup and she has totally changed our lives.
When people stop us and ask about her I am always honest. Yes she's pretty, yes she can walk nicely, yes she loves playing with other dogs. But she's very demanding on time, she must be exercised, we can't skip a walk because of the weather or because we have something else planned (well we could but she would bounce of the walls and the furniture). She is strong willed and training can be slow going at times, she also tests her place in the pack every now and then (always with me). Her recall is not good but that is down to me mostly I'm not confident with it (she's always been better for Ryan).
We were warned about all of these things before we got her so were prepared for the commitment. Tania might remember the 'are you sure and do you understand time' I had with Ryan. I can see how other people that are not prepared for these wonderful dogs are totally overwhelmed by them and are unabled to cope with the high energy. I have been well supported by Tania (must be so fed up hearing from me sometimes ) and feel that has been the key.
I worry about breeders not supporting new owners or being honest about the work that needs to be put in.
All that said I can honestly say Tealah is fantastic and I have been totally taken in with this breed and hope to add to our pack with another NI

hi im lucky enough to have a northern inuit in my life, dudley was a rescue dog, 5 mths old, didnt know what i was letting myself in for!!! He is the most intelligent , loving, laid back dog ive owned so far!!!after our 2 and a half years together i thank god we found each other, he knows instinctly what i require of him, i only have to make eye contact and think what i want of him and he does it!! if your not into walking in all weathers, cleaning mud off your dog and carpets and your household fittings and fixtures, then dont get a ni, if your into adventure, lots of muck and you enjoy a close and vocal relationship with your dog, then a ni is for you!! lots of love and good luck xxxxx
